In this preliminary study, Euphorbia anacampseros BOISS var. tmolea (Euphorbiaceae), an endemic plant of Turkey, was gathered from its natural habitat in Aegean Region İzmir, Bozdağ. Euphorbia anacampseros var. tmolea extract was obtained from dried and grinded stem with the method of maceration by using methanol. After hexane-methanol partition was carried out to this extract, a new compound, 24-Methylenecycloartanol and a known flavonoid Quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnoside was isolated from Euphorbia anacampseros BOISS var. tmolea at the end of the series of the column and thin layer chromatographic seperations. Pattern analysis of compounds carried out by using spectral methods [1D-NMR (1H-NMR)].
