Introduction of Generic Drug Policy in the Market Palce with Rpecial Reference to the Health Authority in the Emirates of Abudhabi

The Health Authority in the Emirate of Abudhabi has recently introduced a generic drug policy in the market place. This policy mandate that all physicians write prescription with its generic name. The policy have changed and impacted many stakeholders in the Healthcare sector. Those impacted include pharmacist, physicians and the drug manufacturer both brand and generic in addition to the drug distributors. In addition, also it has changed the market share of several pharmaceutical in the market place. The session will describe how a new policy can have a large impact on the drugs sector and will the result of a current survey for all the stake holders in the Health sector.
