Background: Sever heart diseases are one of the most common dangerous causes of limitation in physical activity ,not only that, but they also cause sever problems in various fields of everyday life of an individual. Thus the present study is conducted with the goal of evaluating the effect of cardiac rehabilitation on the improvement of the myocardial infarction (MI) patients in Zanjan.

Methods: The current study is a two phase and two group, experimental study and the population under study was a group of MI patients who was hospitalized in Ayatollah Mosavi Hospital.60 patients where selected randomly from patients who had referred to Ayatollah Mosavi clinical facility for treatment. The selectees were randomly divided to two groups, control group and experimental group. The control group was the group that received no treatment from the cardiac rehabilitation researcher and just used the conventional treatments of the cardiacspecialist. The experimental group was the group that participated in an 8 week exercise program. From each of the two groups pre-test(3 weeks after MI and post-test(after the 8 weeks) examinations of rehabilitation were taken. Before participating in the exercises, the CRP supporter held an individual educational session for the completion of the group education of the patients. The rehabilitation program included, nutritional consultation, psychiatric consultation and also 24 sessions of exercise, each 45-60 long, three times aweek. Each session included 5-10 minutes warm-up,30-40 aerobic exercises and 5-10 minutes cooldown. Moreover, Echocardiography(for analyzing the effect of rehabilitation program on ejection fraction), ECG and blood tests, before and after the CRP were examined and compared. The demographic data questionnaire and quality of life standard questionnaire(NPH) that inquire about 6 set of things: Energy(3 questions),Pain(8 questions),Exited reactions(9 questions),Sleep (5 questions),Social isolation(5 questions),Physical activity(8 questions). In total, the questionnaire had 38 questions and also it is worth noting that the questionnaires were filled with a patient inquirey method(not by the patients themselves). For the purpose of determining the reliability the test-re-test method has been used. With this Method, the reliability has been determined to be 85%.The data were fed to spss and in the analyses, descriptive and analytical statistics (T test,Repeated measurement ANOVA)were used.

Results: The results indicated that a huge diffence in the average scores of the two groups. The rehabilitation program affected the life quality of the MI patients. Results also indicated a significant difference in the life quality of MI patients,3 and 8 weeks during the program, between two groups.According to results, the average score of the eight week was better than that of the third week for both groups. This is more drastic in the experimental group. The condition of health between MI patients, 3 and 8 weeks later between the bith groups, show a significant difference. There was no significant difference between the life quality of men and women. But there was a significant difference between life quality of patients with diabetes and without it and also patients with high LDL againt the normal level. Also, the ejection fraction(EF) of the 8th week patients were better than that of the 3rd week patients and the difference was significant.

Conclusion: The cardiac rehabilitation program can affect and improve the quality of life. The rehabilitation can have positive results on various aspects of life.Creating rehabilitation centers, gives the patients the chance to use these programs and gives them a better chance of independence.
